Girls Night In

(ps count the glasses, there are only 4, sophia's plastic one is hidden. like we would share some of our precious vino! )

Today is Festa Della Donna (the Festival of Women or something like that). Usually the girls go out for dinner and drinks (and so do some men so they can pick up on the women that they know are out and about! its like the lillith festival). max worked til 9, so we had girls night in instead.

unfortunately fra is still in the hospital with alessandro and khatia is sick, so they are missing from the dinner. it was fun chatting, complaining about the boys and having a nice time without dinner conversation leading to sports, electronics and other testosterone-induced subjects.
sophia was working hard on eating an ice cream cone and watching tv so she was pretty quiet. then when she finally gets up and asks for help to take off the paper tht is wrapped around the cone (and already half eaten) she was covered in melted ice cream, it was up her nose, on her eye lashes and everywhere in between. Looks like she had a fun girls night in too!
Simona came over after dinner. Here she is going for the second helping of Nanni's Chocolately Balls.

ps if you are wondering where max went after 9pm, well... as soon as nanni heard we were doing a girls thing, he seized the opportunity to do a boys night of Wii. but while they ate hot dogs and hamburgers, we had sushi apps, then miso salmon, broccoli with the shoyu-mayo sauce, korean spinach salad and steamed rice. the girls brought over white wines and fresh fruit and puffed pastry and of course nanni's chocolate balls.
