Snow Blows

Okay I'm a bit over this snowing thing. Max worked at 6AM this morning and he works a bit far away, so of course he gets car rights. That leaves us with either the bike or foot to get to school. The snow eliminated the bike options, so foot it was. It's the kind of mushy snow that will be gone by tomorrow, but in the meantime it blows. we got to school extra late.

First Day of School

It snowed some more last night. A lot more! Plus it was the first day back to school after the holidays. It snowed too much to drive so we walked...

Sophia had a blast trudgin throught the snow, for the first 20 minutes...

But it was so deep she pooped out. Poor Max has all of Sophia's linens for her cot, her towel, and Pia peed her pants on the last day of school, so we also have the extra change of clothes-plus Sophia.
...apparently we should have called first, school was cancelled for the rest of the week...argggghh-i was so ready for her to go back!

...well if you cant beat 'em, join 'em. It snowed too much for school, but more than enough to make a snow princess (our snowman is buried beneath) and we had more snowball fights.

the best time ever!

The kids played in the house for a bit:
Then we went outside and all hell broke loos:

The girls had a lot of fun!

Snow Job

It rained most of yesterday, but it was all snow this morning. Sophia was so excited. It dumped snow in waves, some of it mushy some of it not. Federica had to do her homework still and so we downstairs to go play in the snow, while Max and the Nonno put chains on the car tires in anticipation for the ride home. Sophia was so cute, the first thing she did when she got downstairs was to stick her tongue out and catch snow...i guess it is instinctive, we never taught her that (i would never let her do that in milan, the snow is so nasty and grey and full of smog!)

ahhhhhhh!
Step One: make mound of snow

Step Two: Roll a little snowball into a big one for the head, then hide.
Tahdahhhh! Wait a minute....this guy looks like Daddy!

Sophia's favorite thing was gathering up snow and throwing it at people. She is so small that she can't throw far, so you are lucky if it lands on you. I left her playing in the snow and went to go and get something from the car. The little booger sat on the sidewalk and I thought she was pouting...instead she was hiding her hands behind the wall and waiting in ambush...as soon as I got there she started throwing snowballs at me! I didnt get a pic because I didnt expect that! What a dingdong! By then Max was done and Federica arrived so the girls chased after Max and Sandro.

ps: that horrible blue jacket that max has on does not mean that the 80s are back, he just needed something warm and water proof to put the chains on with. i was so embarassed of that bright thing. Max's dad is like mine, he can't throw away clothes and uses his kids' old stuff. so there are lots of throwbacks from the 80s and 90s there.

A Walk

Well the snow has melted and the sun is breaking through so we went for a little walk into 'downtown Co Mo' today. We went to the cute litte cafe in town and had some Prosecco and munchies.
The picture is of the sad fountain that's in Dog Poop Park. We had to jump and dodge a dead pigeon and poops camouflaged by dead leaves and muddy snow, it was drama just to snap the picture.

Snow

It's starting to dump snow. This is the view from the kitchen and that's Max's Vespa that's starting to get covered.
