Goodbye Grans

My parents are going back today.  I realize that we are leaving in a few days to go back for the summer too, so it's not like we will never see them again, but A) does my dad have to wear that shirt again??? Is that really his fancy shirt, I just noticed he wore that when the Nonni came over and now, two times he could dress up a little.  And now any slim chance that he had to being bumped up to first class is now gone.  Ups to my mom for not fighting with the guy and still pretending she knows him.  If I were her I would have stayed back a few people in the check-in line just to get gain that chance back.  and B) does my daughter HAVE to make that face in every picture?  This year's Christmas Calendar is going to see 12 months of that! We are such the Adams Family.

Ciao for now, see you in a week.

2010 Meeting of the Grans

We took out the old blue sink upstairs and put in a new one, but we havent put the mirror up  yet.  Poor Grandma is using the only mirror in the house to fix her hair.  Things have been crazy busy, Max, my dad and I ran to Bennet (Gemco like store) to buy an umbrella because we don't have a table inside the house large enough for everyone (we've been using our 2 seater for breakfast) but it's dang hot outside now.
Nonna hugs Vivienne.
Buon apetito.

Moody Soffria giving the evil eye.

The Nonni and the Grans with the grandkids 2010.  Would be a nice picture, too bad for my dad's fancy outfit and the slime on the wall!

Vivienne pines for her long lost love.

Chinese Migrant Workers

What? You think that our peeps that come over in C-crates get a rest period??  They've been here less than 12 hours and we've already put my parents to work!

The Christmas tree is ours, but the rest of that hot mess was left for us.  That tree was dead for such a long time that Max just pushed it over.  And then we discovered there was a freaky petrified mushroom growing at the bottom, forgot to get a pic of that though.

Ugh I hope I don't get some creepy mold disease, from the first time we saw the garage until now, quite a bit of water damage has occurred.

Bottega and the Grans

Cheese glorious cheese! Another awesome thing about our new house is that there is a little bottega kitty corner to us that sells a bazillion cheeses and cold cuts, but best of all they have some of the tastiest sausages-if you get there at the right time you can see the owner/butcher making them and he slices some awesome pork ribs right in before your eyes too!

The guy speaks Milanese (or Brugherese-not really sure of the difference) so I can hardly understand him, but man he cuts some mean slices of meat!
Grandma and Grandpa arrived tonight.  My dad holds Viv for the first time, hmmmm I think we've found his doppelganger!

Sorry mom this pictures makes your arm look bigger than Viv's head, but it's the only first pic I got.
This is the sleep situation by the way...the kids are all good and sleeping in their own room, but living out of suit cases.  Were sleeping on the couch downstairs, but have now hastily painted our room, just in the nick of time and now my parents get the couch until we can paint the upstairs guest room/studio.

Random pics from our first days home.

Mom noticed I left all my plants die off this year. I admit, I am mega lazy during this pregnancy!
Anyhoo, one of her self assigned projects was going to the various stores, markets and flower kiosks and finding flowers to plant for our sad looking balcony. Thanks Mom - our resident babysitter, cleaner, company keeper and (Green Acres) gardener.

Moms Here

Mom is on a tour with Mrs Colbert, Auntie Lil and Uncle Harry, they did a tour extension in Milan before the 'real' part of the trip began. Sophia had Martina's 2nd bday party to go to at piazza libia, which happens to be near Mom's hotel. How lucky is that? after the party we just walked over to pick everyone up and took the metro back to CM. Had a simple dinner of aperitivo, them some lasagne Genovese and chocolate fondue for dessert. Max had to work early, soph was tired, and everyone had to get up early for the tour the next day. we called it an early night and max drove them home.
